We’re excited to announce Castr’s recent membership in the SRT Alliance — the open-source initiative by Haivision dedicated to overcoming the challenges of low-latency video streaming.
The SRT Alliance, founded by Haivision in April 2017, is focused on overcoming the challenges of low-latency live streaming by supporting the collaborative development of the SRT protocol. SRT is a free open-source video transport protocol and technology stack originally developed and pioneered by Haivision that enables the delivery of high-quality and secure, low-latency video across the public internet. With over 450 members in the SRT Alliance and widespread industry adoption, SRT is the fastest-growing open-source streaming project.

Castr will join the SRT Alliance to integrate the SRT protocol into its platform, enabling for the best viewing experience, secured content from contribution to distribution, and pristine video quality over unreliable networks. This membership also strengthens Castr’s overall strategy to promote efficient, affordable and easy video streaming solutions.
Becoming a part of the SRT Alliance will help the team at Castr fulfill these goals and deliver even better quality streaming solutions to our end-users in the coming future:
